Is OpenDentist compliant for NHS and private work?
Yes. All of our compliance information, covering security, clinical safety, data protection and certifications, is published in our Trust Centre, which is the right place to send a practice manager who asks.
Do I need patient consent?
Yes if you're recording audio. If you aren't recording audio, we still recommend telling the patient you're using AI to help with your notes.
Do you store my audio recordings and transcripts?
You control both. Go to Settings → Privacy & storage, where you'll find separate toggles for Store audio recordings and Store transcripts, plus controls for whether transcripts and the audio player are shown on your notes.
If you turn off audio storage, recordings aren't kept after your note has been generated. For details on how data is encrypted and where it's hosted, see the Trust Centre.
